Custom pattern making April/June 2026

Each week for a term ( Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. from April 14 to June 30, 2026, excluding holidays and public holidays), i.e., April 14, then May 5, 12, 19 and 26, then June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 2026 .

Learn the basics of women's pattern making: flat pattern drafting techniques. Create bodice and sleeve patterns: Discover how to interpret an inspiration to create the complete pattern for a garment of your choice (top, simple jacket or coat, or simple dress).

• Introduction to pattern making, creating a measurement chart, presentation of materials, course materials. (For taking measurements, remember to wear suitable underwear and a fitted t-shirt).
• Construction of the basic bodice (bodice) to measure.
• Creation of the bust painting, critique and correction.
• Construction of the sleeve, creation of the canvas, critique and correction.
• Pattern alteration techniques (ease of adjustment, manipulation of the bust dart, shaping, style line)
• Interpretation of an inspiration, application of ease according to style, choice of fabric.
• Construction of the chosen model over 2 x courses
• Creation of the canvas, critique and correction
• Finalizing the pattern (seam allowances, facing, closures, pockets, lining)
